Conceived and constructed by the Hayes’ Family, it was a model for the first United States Presidential Library to be run by the National Archives Administration and established by Franklin Roosevelt in Hyde Park, New York.
The Hayes Presidential Library, museum, home, and monument are located on the Hayes Estate: “Spiegal Grove” – now a beloved state park – near downtown Fremont, Ohio.
